If in London…..

Posted in Inspiration

Stop by my event this Thursday for a little pre-Valentine’s shopping extravaganza!

We survived the first month of a brand new year,
So please do come out and share the good cheer.
With Valentine’s Day quickly sneaking up,
Let’s ensure it goes off sans hiccup.
Whether it be flowers, bubbly, a shiny new bauble,
or ideas to make up for last years debacle.
Don’t spend an evening reading a book off the shelf,
Come on out, socialise, and treat yo’self!
There is sure to be something that will have you swooning
(hopefully not the fact that a passerby is mooning),
So please RSVP if you would like to attend
And forward this on to partners and friends!

If you are interested in attending please leave a comment or drop me an e-mail via the “Contact Me” link to the right and I will send you the details.  Cheers!

Flashback Friday

Posted in There's {a} Way

Flashback FridayWith all the dreary weather we have been having in London lately I thought a little dose of sunshine would help to brighten the day. These photos were taken back in August in the South of France.  I was having a grand old time entertaining myself on a bike ride while enjoying the gorgeous scenery.  Hopefully the sun will come back soon…..  Cheers!Flashback Friday

Tie a bow

Posted in There's {a} Way

tie a bowMy “go to” lately has involved a lot of black & gold.  A colour that never goes out of style, gold touches instantly add a luxe element to an ensemble. It also looks like I may just break out into song at any moment and do a little tap dance up and down the stairs in my jazzy modern cabaret ensemble (which I did). Cheers!tie a bowtie a bowtie a bowdenim: Current/Elliot (similar here),  sweater: Warehouse (also here),  jacket: Massimo Dutti,  shoes: Kurt Geiger (similar here),  bow: old sheer scarf (similar here),  lips: Lipstick Queen “Saint Wine

Snow Cape

Posted in There's {a} Way

snow capeWhen the snowy weather comes to town it can be challenging to try to stay warm and chic at the same time.  I definitely own a large down puffy jacket, but save that for more casual days. My solution for chic warm outerwear is to invest in a great cape. You can fit various layers underneath (including a thick warm sweater or two) and avoid having to a tack a “wide load coming through” sign on your back as the cape perfectly conceals any bumps or lumps. When I found this vintage cape it was love at first sight. It originally came with outdated brown plastic buttons which I swapped out for a a green metal pair to give it a new lease on life. Don’t let a little DIY scare you off of a great piece! Also if the rest of your ensemble is more muted or black add a little intrigue by wearing your accessories over your winter gloves! Cheers!

Butler & Wilson

Posted in Stores

I first came to know of Butler & Wilson through a friendly vintage jewellery dealer who had an assortment of fabulous brooches that I was eyeing.  He told me the story of how the company was founded in 1969 and has grown over the years into an internationally recognised British brand.  It was a favourite of Princess Diana who was often photographed wearing various brooches from their collections.  Upon further exploration on my part I learned they have two physical locations in London and they do not disappoint.  Practically every piece is adorned with swarovski crystals and they run the gamut from feminine floral earrings to statement necklaces dripping with skulls. My favourites in the shop are of course all the animal pieces they carry! (I am wearing one of their pieces here.)  In addition to jewellery they have an amazing assortment of clutches, vintage dresses (mostly all which are covered in sequins…..amazing) and a bridal accessories line.  Definitely worth a trip if you are looking for a little sparkle to jazz up an ensemble, or need a gift for the hard to shop for woman. Cheers!
