On the Waterfront

Posted in There's {a} Way

on the waterfrontHello! So I am currently in the midst of moving and just turned in the keys to our flat in Islington today! So bittersweet, but truly excited for the adventures in store for us as we head over to West London to set up home. As a result of moving and packing my attire has of late has been loose and comfortable: boyfriend denim, a white t-shirt and a slouchy cardigan borrowed from the hubs.  When wearing over sized clothing, an easy way to pull the look together is by adding a clean cut statement coat. The perfect addition to walk into an afternoon meeting on a quick break between the hustle and bustle between London boroughs. Cheers!

A Formal Affair

A Formal Affair

Hello! I attended a beautiful wedding yesterday in Surrey for some wonderful friends we have made here in London. Since the weather has been such a tease with Spring I decided to layer up and bust out the penguin suit (which also proved to be a pretty sweet dance move later in the evening).  I had been on the hunt for a vintage tails jacket and finally found one that was small enough. I decided to glam it up a bit by updating the buttons (in the hour cab ride to the wedding venue, naturally).  Changing out the hardware is such an easy way to update a look or just add a little more interest to a piece.  Of course a tuxedo would not be complete without a tie, and thanks to my friend at Be Dazzle, she had this fabulous vintage one which helped to feminise the overall look. Hope you had a grand weekend! Cheers!

Galway, Ireland

Posted in There's {a} Way

GalwayHello! I just had a lovely long weekend away in Galway to celebrate a friend’s 30th birthday. We were only allowed to take a carry-on bag on the plane so for someone that is a notorious over packer the challenge was set. Knowing that the weather would be fluctuating between sun and rain I opted to bring two jackets, but wear them as one. If it got warm enough I could leave the long coat and wear the short one, and they also looked fab together. A pair of denim, good walking boots and a few tops to swap out pretty much saw me through. Maybe there is something to the whole less is more? Cheers! Galway Galway GalwayGalway

While out celebrating I invited myself behind the bar and learned how to pour the perfect Guinness! Cheers to the bartender that put up with my shenanigans, and I am now seriously considering a part time bar-tending gig.

Spring has Sprung!

Posted in There's {a} Way

Spring has Sprung! Spring is finally here! At least it feels that way today in London. The sun is out, the daffodils are in bloom, and the flats are on! (I am so over wearing boots).  Even though there still may be a slight nip in the air, I find the easiest way to prepare is to layer. A warm sweater underneath a leather vest will surely keep you warm for when you cross over onto the shady side of the street. I am so in love with my new Spring flats as well. They are the perfect mix of Parisian chic and classic Audrey. They are an absolute steal at ASOS (just note that they do run a full size larger if ordering). Hope you are enjoying the weather wherever you may be! Cheers!
