One of my favourite places on a lazy Sunday is Columbia Road Flower Market. It makes me feel as if I am stepping back in time to the when vegetable and fruit markets were the main source of shopping in London and men and women loudly hawked their wares, “Three for a fiver…. who’s buying?” If you are an insomniac like me it is best to get there early (they are usually assembled by 8am) if you want to steer clear of the crowds. It can become very congested and the space is tight. However if you do go later in the day the florists are more eager to sell off their goods so they slash prices and you can walk out with an armful of flowers for a few pounds. (Things tend to wind down around 3pm.) There are some great independent stores that line the road as well that are definitely worth checking out before you take your leave. Cheers!
Beyond Retro is a fabulous London based vintage store with two locations. One is nestled in the heart of Soho and the other is just a hop skip and a jump off of Brick Lane in East London. The latter is the larger of the two and the one I tend to frequent as the racks are packed with amazing finds. They carry men’s and women’s clothes, shoes & accessories, and everything is in mint condition. Definitely worth stopping by or even shopping online as their product assortment is fantastic.

One of my favorite vintage stores in London is located on Hanbury St just off of Brick Lane in East London. The oh so spacious two floor layout, which was formerly a large Victorian warehouse, is overwhelmingly (in the best way possible) stocked with men’s & women’s clothing, accessories, jewellery, books, & furniture. Where does one begin! The large selection is thoughtfully edited and all of the pieces are in stellar condition with an excellent price point to match. Expect to find leather skirts for £38 and gorgeous silk blouses for £25. (Two key pieces to help slowly ease the transition into your Fall wardrobe.) It is the perfect place to spend an afternoon perusing through the racks while occasionally sipping on a latte provided by their in house coffee bar. Divine.
