….in Amsterdam!! August is the month of travel. How European I have become in the two and a half years of living here. After our sailing of the Adriatic we made a quick weekend getaway to Amsterdam with two other couples. We arrived a day earlier than the rest of our party which gave me time to explore vintage shops (check out my instagram for a glimpse at some of the goods “mjintheuk”), home good stores and coffee breaks in the form of a macchiato 😉 For an outfit that would take me from an early morning flight to a questionable bedtime I opted for distressed denim, a sensible pair of walking shoes, and a bit of glitz in the form of a sequin top. The top drew a bit of attention at the airport by a businessman heading to Edinborough who said he hoped I was “headed somewhere fun.” My response, “I am the fun.” Hope you are all enjoying the last rays of summer wherever you may be! Cheers!
Nothing like a little pop of colour to make an otherwise dreary day a little brighter!

This is the time of year when I start to hit my winter wardrobe slump. I was so excited the beginning of December when I thought to myself, “Gosh, oh boy! Winter is almost over!” (Yes my inner voice bears a slight resemblance to Pinnochio.) Only to be told that we still had 3 more months of the dreary cold and dark days. What a downer… With our first spot of snow this week in London and rain always a foreboding presence in the weekly forecast, I decided it was high time to start incorporating soft colours into my wardrobe just as if the first buds of Spring were beginning to appear. Taking a classic black and white shift dress and adding a pop of colour at the cuffs and collar liven up a work ensemble and make typing on a keyboard pleasantly more pink. The outfit also lends itself to a quick transition for after work drinks by swapping out the collared shirt for a more sleek look. Hope you are having a great week! Cheers!
