Hello lovelies! I leave you today with my last Manhattan based ensemble post. We hit the town on our last night in the city and I dared to bare. I love a little unexpected drama, this time in the form of jewellery cascading down a bare back. One little tip is that when turning a necklace around to wear backwards, you can easily add a little extra glam and hide the clasp which is now in the front with a great pin (as pictured). On a completely different note: I joined Instagram! If you would like to follow me for a more in depth look at the world through my eyes and my shenanigans in London you can find me under the name: mjintheuk. Also another bit of inspiration for the day is the beautiful blog of a friend who is pictured with me in the last photograph below owning the streets of Manhattan. Her blog is a beautiful embodiment of life in NYC with inspirational photographs, and to die for style! Cheers!
Hello! While in Manhattan it was one of my dear friend’s baby showers out in NJ. (You can visit her blog here: The Lovely Owl) When I travel during the summer I tend to pack a lot of lightweight dresses so I don’t completely wither away in the heat. This oldie but a goodie had been stashed in my closet for some time so out it came. I jazzed it up with a great statement pair of earrings and an interesting shoe that plays with the lines of the dress. Simple yet interesting. Clean yet fresh. If only I felt that way in the heat….. Cheers!
Hello lovelies! So much to share today! One of the highlights of my trip back to the good ol’ US of A was attending a garden party in New Jersey with one of my dearest friends in the whole wide world. This woman is amazing. When we first initially met I was drawn to her. I remember thinking, “Who is this fabulous person and can we be friends. Now.” Even with an ocean between us she has remained a constant in my life and I am so lucky to have found such a kindred spirit in her. She is someone who doesn’t balk when I suggest we wear black to a garden party, that follows my lead and does the Charleston dance while exiting, and then for extra measure jumps in the air! We really should not be allowed out in public together for we are trouble, but trouble of the best kind. She has always been a style inspiration, but the photographs truly speak for themselves.
I am also happy to announce that I am now a true “lady” as my husband surprised me for my 30th with a vintage Chanel. I know, hold the phone, alert the presses, we have a lady in our midst. Well at least by appearance….. Cheers!

Hello lovelies! So Forever 21 is a store I definitely have a love/hate relationship with. I think the amount of turnover of product is obscene and it directly feeds into the consumer mentality of buying something new for every weekend. I am more of the mindset that you should buy pieces that will work throughout the seasons and you can incorporate into your wardrobe to mix and match to endless possibilities. They also tend to rip off high end designers (this one being Halston Heritage. Remember SJP wearing the orange version in SATC2 walking along the beach? ) With that being said. This. dress. is. $32.80. If buying high end is not in your budget, this is the way to go. I can just see it paired for the Fall with some booties, a chunky sweater, a belt and a camel colored fedora. Happy shopping! Cheers!
