Goodness golly gee it is mid-August! Where did the summer go?! I know I spent a lot of time back and forth between the UK and the USA with weddings and weddings and more weddings….. So the summer has slowly slipped between my fingers, but I shall be making the most of the remainder of this sunny weather with picnics in the park and day trips to the beach. With August winding down it is becoming that time to look ahead to Fall and all the glorious things it has in store. For instance brocade, mixing and matching patterns and getting your “cray cray” on (aka crazy, as that is what my husband called this outfit when he saw it). Seriously just when you think your outfit couldn’t handle another print…. add one. Treat stripes as a neutral and mix in some spots, dots, swirls and thingamabobs. The more looks you get on the street the better! You should not ask yourself “why?” your mantra should be “why not!” Cheers!

*It was actually one of the most amazing meals I have ever had in my life. I highly recommend going if/when you are in Paris! Alain Senderens If you are unable to make it to Paris he has a collaboration in NYC called Maimonide that you can sample and report back to me!
Hello! This week I have a few outfits to share from a quick weekend trip I took to Paris. Oh Paris…..oh sequins…. j’adore. I have been obsessed with this skirt from J.Crew since I saw it in their Spring/Summer 2012 fashion look book. It is to die for. It is now on sale for less than half of its original price! If you are thinking about investing in a wow piece I highly recommend. It can be worn so many different ways. I opted for a casual look while wandering the streets of Paris, but it would look amazing all glammed up for a formal event as well.
On another note, the Olympic competition has come to an end and I am happy to announce the medal winners! Recipient of the Bronze is Miss Lolly with three points! Yippee! Recipients of the Silver are Karen & Christine with four points! A tie!! The Gold medal goes to Judy with five points! Congratulations ladies and thank you for your enthusiastic participation! It was a tight race! (Prizes shall be sent via mail or delivered in person). The answers for last week in case you were wondering is Monday (a tough one): the gold heel on my shoes, Wednesday: gold necklace, Friday: gold shoes. Cheers!
skirt: J.Crew, top: J.Crew (similar here), heels: Rachel Comey (similar here), necklace: Rada for Anthropologie (old), watch: Michael Kors, bracelet: J.Crew, hat: Spitalfields Market hat man (similar here), nail polish on toes: Essie “good as gold,” on hands: OPI “dulce de leche”
….jumping on the bed! Just when you thought it was over. What would a trip to Paris be without a chic pajama set, an updo and a little spontaneous jumping on the hotel bed. I am so in love with men’s inspired pajama sets for women. Ever since Audrey Hepburn graced the screen in “Roman Holiday” and Gregory Peck had to loan her not only pajamas, but men’s pajamas they have become my staple for bedroom chic. Cheers!
Hello lovelies! My time in Paris has come to an end and I have saved the best for last! Paris. At night. The Eiffel Tower. Sequins & Swooooon. I now have a new life goal as well to live in Paris for a year (or more…..).
On another note I bit the bullet and just joined twitter. I was holding out as I really am such an old school girl when it comes to being socially connected, but I have come around and realized the benefits of getting to share so much more of life through my eyes while out and about and on the move. So if you would like to follow my daily ramblings and inspiration sign up to follow me @MJintheUK.
Hope you had a lovely weekend. Cheers! xoxo
