Hello! I was so inspired by this penguin printed skirt, and what better place to wear it than with my perfect little friends at the London Zoo! They are just simply the best and always bring a smile to my face. If you are not able to visit in person, have no fear, because you can view these little cuties via the live web cam the zoo has set up! (As if life could get any sweeter.) If you happen to suffer a withdrawal at night time when the little guys are asleep this little laughing penguin video may just do the trick. Cheers!

Beyond Retro is a fabulous London based vintage store with two locations. One is nestled in the heart of Soho and the other is just a hop skip and a jump off of Brick Lane in East London. The latter is the larger of the two and the one I tend to frequent as the racks are packed with amazing finds. They carry men’s and women’s clothes, shoes & accessories, and everything is in mint condition. Definitely worth stopping by or even shopping online as their product assortment is fantastic.
Brick Lane location: 110-112 Cheshire St, London E2 6EJ
Hours: Monday through Saturday 10:00am to 7:00pm, Thursday 10:00am to 8:00pm, Sunday 11:30am to 6:00pm
Telephone: 020 7613 3636
This is by far the most exciting place to be on a Monday at 3:00pm! Criterion Auction House holds weekly auctions where you never know what you may end up walking out with. I have been on numerous occasions as every week brings in a new assortment of vintage and antique treasures. The range of products is spectacular as they have furniture, artwork, fine china, jewellery, mantle clocks, light fixtures, and that very special item you did not even know you needed in your life until you walked in the door that day! They once had a framed Christmas card from Prince Charles that I desperately wanted to hang on the wall in my flat to dupe guests….”oh yes we go way back Charles and I, (followed by haughty laughter).” However once the bidding escalated to over 200 pounds I politely withdrew. If you are looking to pick up a great deal or a unique gift this is the place to go and it is quite a thrilling way to spend an afternoon. If you are unable to make it in person you may also bid live over the phone when your item lot is up, or you may pop in over the weekend and complete a bidding slip for them to bid in your absence.

I love jewellery (in case you had not noticed). I consider it to be one of the easiest ways to glam up an outfit, or completely reinvent a basic ensemble by just swapping out the accessories. It is also much more affordable to buy a few great pieces rather than a few new outfits. The more sparkle the better in my opinion.
Therefore Hirst Antiques is a must go, do not bypass, leave the boy at home (unless he is buying) if ever in need of a little bit of glam. The teeny tiny space is filled to the brim with gorgeous, unique and amazing pieces that will make you swoon. They have “conversation starting” pieces by Chanel, Kenneth Jay Lane, Miriam Haskell, and Christian Lacroix (just to name a few). Prices run the full spectrum depending upon the item, designer and year it was made. Men do not feel left out as they do have a great selection of cufflinks to add a little dapper to your day. As if things could not get any better it is also right by Portabello Market so you can continue your vintage treasure hunting! Talk about a perfect day.

This store is a true little treasure trove of vintage goodies! Stocking mens and womens clothing & accessories they boast one of the largest selections of shoes and handbags I have encountered so far! The rails are tightly packed with clothing so some hunting is required, but the more options the merrier right? If you are not able to visit in person they do offer a selection of goods on their website and international shipping.
